CASE LAW NO. 60/2023/AL REGARDING THE TIME LIMIT FOR PAYING PRIZES OF LOTTERY

Case law situation: The rules for participation in winning lottery prizes of the Lottery Company A determined the time limit for prize redemption for winning tickets based on the number of days. 

Legal solution: In this case, the court had to determine that the first day of the time limit shall not be taken into account and the time limit shall commence from the day following the defined date according to clause 2 Article 147 of the Civil Code 2015; the last day of the time limit for prize redemption is determined according to Article 148 of the Civil Code 2015.
