The Ministry of Health warns against the return of the Covid-19 epidemic
Posted date: 17/04/2021

In the context of a strong outbreak of Covid-19 in neighboring countries, the Minister of Health warned that the danger of epidemics in Vietnam was very high.

On the morning of April 16, the Ministry of Health organized an online conference to strengthen the prevention of the Covid-19 epidemic with 63 provinces and cities. Currently, the hottest areas are the southwest border and the southwestern provinces. Therefore, the Ministry of Health will continue to set up missions to this area for inspection.

The Ministry of Health requires localities to immediately notify authorities to quarantine and strengthen community screening in high-risk areas, attendants, health facilities ... for early recognition of cases. Also, the Ministry of Health directs localities to update the Covid-19 safety map at all medical facilities, businesses, services establishments, and schools. Any clinic that does not guarantee operation will be suspended. In particular, localities must have scripts on testing, large-scale isolation, and treatment to be ready to act immediately when there is an outbreak.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the pandemic cannot be controlled in 2021. Up to now, Vietnam has gone through 21 days of not reporting cases of Covid-19 in the community, but still recording many cases of entry. Therefore, the current concern is neglect, subjectivity in the community, illegal entry, poor management of legal entries; inspection, and supervision are not regular, not substantial...

Vietnam has not recorded clotting status

The Minister said that 817,200 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine received from Covax were now distributed by the Ministry of Health to 28 localities. The Ministry of Health requires all provinces to plan vaccination per Resolution 21 and end vaccination by May 5, instead of May 15 as originally planned.

So far, Vietnam has not recorded any cases of thrombosis after the AstraZeneca vaccination. The rate of an overreaction after injection was only 1%, all 5 cases recovered after receiving proper treatment.

On April 15, the Ministry of Health established a Steering Committee for vaccination safety, bringing together all leading professors in all fields, especially in treatment to assist localities in handling cases of post-vaccination hypersensitivity, including cases of thrombosis. Experts will consult and support the line with more than 1,500 remote examination and treatment points across the country.
