YEARBOOK OF PRIVATE INTERNATIONAL LAW

YEARBOOK OF PRIVATE INTERNATIONAL LAW
Posted date: 09/04/2020

"This reprint of the Yearbook of Private International Law: Volume I (1999) includes national reports from Venezuela, Switzerland, China, Hungary, and Germany; news from The Hague; and the following essays: -- Marriage Dissolution in an Integrated Europe -- Legally Regulated Forms of Non-Marital Cohabitation and Registered Partnerships -- The Artifact of "Sham Marriages" -- How Common are the General Principles of Private International Law? America and Europe Compared."

"The gratifying response to our first volume has encouraged us to attempt to broaden the international dialogue between conflicts experts, raising it to an even higher level, both scholarly and geographically. In this sense, volume two focuses on the legal protection of natural persons, minors as well as adults, whereas volume one was devoted to topics on marriage, procedural law, and jurisdiction."

"Our main goal, as stated in the first volume, is to make the Yearbook an international podium for the intellectual exchange of scientific and practical ideas between specialists of private international law. The intention is to include contributions by scholars from all parts of the world. As readers will witness in this volume, the Yearbook is becoming more international; however, contributions from Africa are still missing. Hopefully this continent will also be represented in the near future. Again we encourage contributions on new developments in private international law in countries and regions around the globe. Discussions of important court decisions are particularly welcome."
